World Scholar’s Cup

Student Life

The students of GEMS Wellington Primary School are always at the forefront of local and international competitions; putting their learning skills and knowledge to the test against the very best that Dubai has to offer.

The World Scholar’s Cup is a prestigious, international competition run by graduates from Harvard University in the U.S.A. The competition aims to test children’s writing, debating and teamwork skills to the very limit and pits students against each other from all over the world.

The children of GEMS Wellington Primary School have a proud reputation of being extremely successful in this competition and always come away with a large haul of medals and trophies – ranging from ‘Best Speaker’ to ‘Best Debate Team’. Through dedicated practice and training, the children hone these skills, which serve them well in all aspects of their academic and social life – setting them up for the transition into secondary education.

It is our belief that children’s interpersonal and public speaking skills should be at the forefront of any education system and through developing these, we are providing children with key life skills required for them to succeed in an ever-changing world.
